1. Use high quality crude red palm oil

Generally, there are many impurities in crude red palm oil, such as gums, FFA (1%FFA=2 acid value ), pigments and bad odors. When refining, to remove these impurities will loss some crude red palm oil, so there is less impurities, will the oil loss be less, too. 

I can give you an example for you. If the moisture of crude red palm oil is 0.5%, impurities is 0.5%, and the acid value is 5, you will get 1-0.5%-0.5%-5*1.8%--2%=88% refined palm oil theoretically. By the formula you will found the FFA is the most important factor that effect the final refined palm oil yield. In order to get more RBD palm oil and reduce the oil loss, we'd better choose the crude red palm oil with low FFA.

2. Choose physical refining process of palm oil if the budget is enough
